This fully painted two light window was executed for Robert McCausland Ltd. in 1995. The figures of Christ and John The Baptist are handpainted and kiln fired. The design is a stock pattern that dates back to the turn of the century. (Note : the feet under the water.) This type of painting requires at least two kiln firings, sometimes three. The face and hands of the figures are painted separately in a process that is so delicate it uses the technique of extracting paint with a needle. This is what give the Flesh areas of the body their fine texture and photographic detail. |
